Training and Program Implementation

In addition to shaping legislation, we are also committed to ensuring that federal programs, once enacted, are accessible to the communities they are intended to serve. Educating and training community development practitioners on how federal programs work — and how to participate in them — is an important part of what we do. In 1997, for example, we held a series of workshops on the Welfare to Work grants; in 1999 we held briefings on the Workforce Investment Act; and we currently offer trainings on the New Markets Tax Credit.
