New Markets Tax Credit Coalition

The New Markets Tax Credit Coalition (NMTCC) is the only national membership organization that lobbies and advocates on behalf of the New Markets Tax Credit. Rapoza Associates helped organize the Coalition (originally named the Community Development Tax Credit Coalition) in 1998 and has built the Coalition from the ground up. With Rapoza Associates at the helm, the Coalition successfully spearheaded the effort to enact the Credit in the final days of the Clinton Administration.

Rapoza Associates then assisted the Bush Administration on behalf of the Coalition to develop implementation regulations as well as support mission-driven community development entities (CDEs) in their efforts to effectively utilize the Credit. The New Markets Coalition was the leading voice in working with the CDFI Fund and Treasury Department on the temporary and final rule relating to the Credit. In addition, Rapoza Associates and the Coalition have conducted several conferences on the Credit. The Coalition has seen its membership grow to over 120 CDEs, investors, and professionals working with the Credit. With Rapoza Associates there to staff its work, it will continue to advocate for the extension of the Credit into the future as well as ensure that the program remains strong and effective.
